Early Pregnancy Ultrasound in Washington, NC

We provide a free early pregnancy ultrasound to women in Beaufort County and surrounding areas. Our services are available to anyone in the region, regardless of your county of residence.

Why an Early Pregnancy Ultrasound is Essential

A positive pregnancy test is an indicator, but it is not a complete diagnosis. A clinical scan is the only way to medically confirm the status of your pregnancy.
Our licensed medical team utilizes diagnostic imaging to answer three vital questions:

  1. Is the pregnancy viable? We check for a detectable fetal heartbeat to ensure the pregnancy is progressing.
  2. Is the pregnancy intrauterine? We confirm the pregnancy is located safely inside the uterus to rule out life-threatening complications like an ectopic pregnancy.
  3. What is the gestational age? We take precise measurements to determine exactly how far along you are.

Your Two-Step Appointment Process

To provide the most accurate medical results, we follow a specific two-step process. We do not perform same-day imaging without first verifying the pregnancy in our office.

  • Step 1: Your First Appointment (Pregnancy Testing): Your visit begins with an initial consultation and a lab-quality pregnancy test to verify your results.

  • Step 2: Your Second Appointment (Ultrasound): Once your pregnancy is verified by our staff, we will schedule your early pregnancy ultrasound for a follow-up visit.

Clinical Requirements for an Early Pregnancy Ultrasound

To ensure the most accurate diagnostic imaging, our center follows specific medical protocols:

  • Consultation First: An initial consultation is required to determine your eligibility for a scan.

  • Optimal Timing: For an early pregnancy ultrasound to detect a fetal heartbeat or measure gestational age, you must be far enough along in your pregnancy. If it is too early, our medical team will schedule your scan for a later date to ensure accuracy.

  • Hydration: Depending on the timing of your appointment, a full bladder may be requested for better visibility.
